2015 passed by so fast. It’s like I blinked then suddenly, the whole year is over and done with. I love 2015. It’s probably my favorite year yet. There has been so many new experiences I had with getting a job, travelling, and starting a blog. Looking back, there is a huge difference between 2015 and the other years in my life.
In a way, I was more independent and adventurous in this year than I ever was. There were really no bad moments in this year; only good and better. I’ve met people that are amazing and still have this other sets of friends that has been there for me for years. As to keep memory of this year, I have listed my 2015 in months, looked back on my goals for the year and assessed how I did, stated the places I’ve been to, listed the concerts I’ve watched live, and my top blog posts in this year. Here’s my 2015 in a nutshell.
2015 in Snapshots
2015 in Months
January: I got my first job! This is the start of our training and I’m glad my college best friend is in the same bootcamp class as me. First step of adulting. I also impulsively bought a ticket to The 1975’s show at the date they’re playing and I don’t regret it. They were way better than when I saw them last.
February: I went to Enchanted Kingdom with my bootcamp buddies from work. It was so fun. However, not many of them are keen to extreme rides like I am, lol.
March: Finally saw Ed Sheeran live with Sydney. It was such a surreal experience. The best concert experience for me yet.
April-May: Nothing much happened between these months. I was just deployed to a project so it was mostly getting to know work and my workmates/teammates.
July: Got to carry an alligator, snake, and different species of bird, pet a tortoise and hold hands with a monkey all in the same day at one of the “zoos” in Tagaytay for only PHP50. I’d do it again the next time I visit the place.
August: All Time Low and The Maine concert! My second time to watch them perform live. I swear, they’re like wine, they get better and better with time. And they were already impressive to begin with!
September: Turned 20! Took the family out to bowling and a nice dinner. Invited my friends to Pinto Art Museum and stuffed ourselves at Dad’s in Megamall. Launched Richel Goes Places in Blogger.
October: Out of town trips with the girlfriends! Had an adrenaline rush at Sandbox, Pampanga and braved through the storm to explore Tagaytay. Finally booked a flight for our first out of the country trip together – to Hong Kong! I also moved to WordPress with the help of Grace.
November: Attended my third Bazooka Rocks in a row! Didn’t get to meet Never Shout Never, but I managed to meet This Century before they disband. Impulsively bought tickets to Korea with my travel buddies. Stoked since we’ll be visiting in Autumn. 13th month pay!!
December: Ilocos trip with the extended family! Finally, a North trip. We’re always going towards South so that was be fun. I also usually prefer adrenaline inducing adventures, but I learned that historical tours are just as good. I can’t wait to come back to this place.
Goals for this Year and How I Did
■Deposit at least PHP100,000 into my savings account at the end of the year. I did this in 9 months and is my biggest accomplishments of 2015! I also made a blog post about that here. I’m hoping to continue this on 2016, as well.
■Live a healthier and cheaper lifestyle. Less luxury, more savings to my upcoming out of the country trips! Less luxury? Check. More savings? Check. Cheaper lifestyle? Check. Healthier lifestyle? Um, no. I suck at trying to be healthy. I’m pushing to lose 20 pounds before my Hong Kong trip, though!
■Invest. Invest. Invest. Or at least, know more about the stock market and/or saving more money. I’ve heard of 3 companies’ proposals but I have yet to make my mind on where to invest. I’m aiming to sign up to one of them before mid-2016.
■Visit places in Philippines! Doesn’t have to be out of Luzon since it’s already September. I’ve been to Batangas, Bulacan, Rizal, Pampanga, Tagaytay, and Ilocos. I consider this a big check!
