2018 Life Updates (Trips, Lasik, Etc.)

2018 Life Updates; Richel Goes PlacesHi, blog! It’s been a hot minute since I posted any updates. 2018 has been crazy busy and not in a bad way. I’ve been having a blast! There’s been a few major life changes and a lot of minor ones that are still on-going. I think I’ll go a bit more in depth about them in my next posts or in my 2018 wrap-up post. But, some quick updates below in no chronological order:

Got Lasik Surgery

2018 Life Updates; Richel Goes Places

I can see now!

This is the biggest change I’ve had recently. I’ve went from basically being blind with no glasses to having a 20/12 vision! I’ll go more in depth about this in a future post, but can I just say that I still can’t believe I don’t have to wear glasses anymore? It’s been more than two weeks now but I still sometimes reach for glasses that I don’t have any more purely out of habit.

First Out of the Country with the Fam that is not SG

2018 Life Updates; Richel Goes Places

Seoul, South Korea, September 2018

I finally managed to visit Korea for the second time! This time around, I have my family with me. This is our first out of the country trip that is not to Singapore and it’s been a blast. We were only able to stay for three full days but I know everyone loved it. I can’t wait for us to come back or to visit another place (maybe Japan or Australia). It’s definitely a different experience between travelling with your friends or your family. I’m excited to blog about this.

2018 Life Updates; Richel Goes Places

High-up photos from Singapore, May 2018

I had been to four out-of-the-country trips this year and one of them has been my first flight out of Asia! I’m not sure how I winged that but I’m taking it. I had so many travel firsts this year. First snow experience. First out of the continent flight. First long haul flight. Ahhh! It’s been so great and each trip has a special place in my heart. Tho this really made me start budgeting as soon as I get home haha. But to note, out of all these, Sydney, Australia really captured my heart. I wouldn’t mind working there for a year or two. I really wouldn’t.

Other Life Updates

  • I’m into minimalism, again. I’ve decluttered everything in my room and then reorganized it all. I call that a big achievement! Room tour next? Maybe.
  • I’m also hooked on this channel that talks about personal growth and lifestyle designs: Lavendaire.
  • I got a new laptop! Which is so pink and pretty. I’m still in the progress of transferring all my files from my old laptop to my new one. But using the new one has been really smooth and easy!
  • Unfortunately, I dropped my phone in Sydney and the lens cracked. Won’t be taking much photos until I get a new phone. 🙁
  • BUT I have a lot of small positive changes in progress and I’ll be talking about those once I’ve accomplished everything in my list. 🙂

About the Blog

I’m thinking about revamping my blog a bit… maybe? Or my social media accounts, in general. I don’t know. But I’m definitely planning to keep my blog updated starting next month. I don’t believe I can keep up my three posts a week like before, but I’m aiming for once a week. Fingers crossed! Also, what do you think about the photo edits I did in this blog post? Should I keep it? Or should I just do the usual photos like in previous posts?

That’s it for now.

Ciao.

Wow, Lasik! I’ve been planning to get Lasik surgery for a loooong time now but it can be quite pricey, and I can’t afford it for the time being. Lol I envy you so much because you don’t have to wear glasses anymore! 😮

It’s so nice that you’re able to travel to so many places! I’ve never been to Singapore before, haha! It’s one of my target destinations in the near future, just because everyone’s been there and I’m the only one who hasn’t lol.

It’s so hard to be consistent when it comes to blog posts, there are so many days when I just can’t find anything to write about… and some days I just can’t put my thoughts into words XD

It was on a huge promo that I just had to! Hahaha.

Yay! You can also look out for promo flights. A roundtrip ticket can go for around Php3000. 😀

I’m so jealous and excited that you got Lasik surgery! I’ve considered getting it but because my astigmatism is horrible, it’s pretty useless for me in the long run to get Lasik 🙁 i shall live through you!!

Yay! I’m glad you got to travel much this past year — I can’t wait to hear more about your adventures! Enjoy the remainder of 2018!

My vision is not 20/20 anymore and I’m planning to get myself prescription glasses since I can’t afford lasik pa pero I’m afraid din kasi marami nagsasabi na mabilis din mag increase yung grade ng eyes once nagstart na mag glasses. So I’m really confused ano dapat ko gawin. What can you advise? HAHAHA

And what app/software did you use sa photos mo? Ang cute kasi! I wanna try it para di masyadong maraming pinopost na photos in one post. Medyo plain lang din kasi kung normal collage lang. HAHA

It took my vision 8-9 years to go from a grade of 75 to almost 400! Di naman agad-agad pero lalabo rin talaga siya lalo na IT tayo huhu. And I think di ka pa pwede maglasik if di pa ganun kataas yung grado mo. Since almost wala na akong makita without my glasses, I would recommend that other people who has the same instance and have the privilege to undergo lasik to go for it. Sobrang life-changing!

Unfold! Like I told ya in IG. 😉

Wow, 20/12 vision!! That’s seriously amazing, I’m definitely considering LASIK when I get a bit older. All of your travels sound so fun, especially hanging out with the deer, they are so cute! Glad to read a blog post from you again 🙂

I really want to get some kind of laser eye surgery eventually! (Evidently I haven’t done my research yet.) My mom got it ages ago and she said it was an easy process. I currently wear night contacts and there are several nights I just want to go straight to bed and not worry about night contacts, but alas. // Sorry to hear about your phone! My phone has been having its own difficulties with battery life. I alwaaays carry a portable battery now. Buut I’m planning to get a new phone very soon! This one has been on its last leg for too long… // I love the photo edits you did; the collages are so fun! What app did you use? -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s

The surgery I got lasted less than ten minutes for both eyes and it was painless! So glad I had it done!

Apparently, Apple can’t fix the crack on my camera enclosure anymore so.. that’s a problem haha. I edited the collages using Undo! 🙂

I am also looking forward to your LASIK surgery post! Not for me, though, my eyes are perfectly fine. Haha! I’m gonna share it with my sister, and persuade her to save up for it! She’s blind without her glasses!

Ang saya ng travels mo this year! ❤️ I hope I can also have an out of Asia travel soon!

Where did you get your lasik surgery? Is it in Shinagawa? I want to get lasik surgery as well, super hassle to wear glasses! Though I can still see without my glasses, basta wag lang ung malayuan. Yay for the travels! I reaaaally want to visit Korea talaga 🙁 and I miss Australia! I like the edits of your photos now
