How to Visit Taiwan Visa-Free for Filipinos (and How to Apply for a Taiwan Tourist Visa)

Taiwan Visa

Last Updated: March 20, 2017

In the later months of 2016, news about being able to travel Taiwan visa free (!!!) as long as you fit certain criteria made the rounds in social media. Within a few days, some budget airlines already announced sales going to Taiwan. With no travel plans for 2017 yet, my friends and I decided we are the we-go-where-cheap-plane-tickets-go kind of travelers. So, yes, we booked tickets for Taiwan’s spring season. I mean, really? Cheap tickets + cherry blossoms + NO VISA? Count us in!

Since I just came back from my Taiwan trip a week ago, I decided to create this step-by-step guide on how to be exempted from applying for a tourist visa for Filipinos – but I will also share how to get a visa if you didn’t fit their exemptions criteria below.

Changing Your Money: 5 Great Tips on Getting the Best Deals

Changing-Your-Money

Going abroad is exciting. Getting your money changed into the right currency isn’t. Nevertheless, it’s essential you have the necessary spending money available in the local currency. It’s no good turning up in Europe trying to pay with dollars. So get it sorted early and you’ll be on your way to having a seamless, enjoyable trip.

It’s surprisingly easy to get ripped off when changing money. Exchange rates vary depending on where you go (changing up your money at airports is never a great idea) and most banks will add fees if you use your card abroad. How to Apply for a Korea Tourist VISA for Filipino Employees

How To Apply for a Korea Touritst Visa Filipino Employees; Richel Goes Places

Oh, VISAs. The bane of travelers hailing from third world country. Wouldn’t it be better if we just have to show proof of financial standings and a return ticket to visit any country we want? Alas, that is not the case. Applying for a VISA is a tricky business. There’s never a guarantee you’ll have one; people who have hundreds of thousands in the bank and return tickets still get denied. Which is why I was a wreck when it was my turn to apply for a Korean VISA; the first VISA application I’ve ever done.

Fortunately, my VISA was approved. Yey! And so were my companions. I’ve heard Korean VISAs are one of the easiest to get, but I also know of people who got denied one. I figured I’ll start my Korean travel series with a guide on how to get a South Korea Tourist VISA for Filipino employees.

4D3N Hong Kong Itinerary (4)

LAST UPDATED: JULY 22, 2017

As promised, I would be sharing with you my 4D3N Hong Kong Itinerary and how we managed to keep it under PHP20,000. I also promise I won’t be talking about sharing bathrooms with strangers or eating the cheapest food – nothing wrong with that, but I’m really maarte especially when it comes to sharing bathrooms! This is your mid-level DIY travel itinerary/guide to Hong Kong with tips and details on how to get from one place to another, exactly how much things cost, etc.

We travelled around Hong Kong from February 20-23, 2016; it was still considered winter season and I loved it! Temperature was averaging on 13 degrees Celsius on our entire trip. I love experiencing this weather while they’re not much tourists in the city. I swear I didn’t line up for anything more than ten minutes for both Disneyland and Ocean Park – except for the photos with the mascots.
