Photo Diary: Hong Kong Disneyland

Hong Kong Disneyland; Richel Goes Places

The Disney princess in me was so elated once we arrived at Hong Kong Disneyland. I felt like I was going to cry because I’ve never actually thought I’ll be able to visit this place when I was a kid. It’s so amazing to see the fruits of my hard work (and my parents’) as I stepped foot on the place. I really felt like the happiest girl on Earth. Okay, enough drama, but I felt like I accomplished something back there.

It was our third day in Hong Kong and we arrived in Disneyland just in time for the afternoon parade. Afterwards, we went on a few meet and greet sessions before lining up for rides. I’ll let the photos do the talking.

Hullo Disneyland!

I always like how theme parks has this feel on them.

Like everything is so detached from the stressful real life.

And people are willing to line up for hours just to meet a mascot or go for a ride.

And you can be lost and not feel sad about it.

You can go to stations and ride trains; then go off at any station you choose.

Here we met the cartoon icons that helped shaped our childhood.

Then we went here to meet a certain someone that we all love.

That someone is this guy.

I reckon his hugs are as warm as Olaf’s.

Then we watched the parade.

And saw the Disney Princesses. My favorite is Belle. Who’s yours?

I wasn’t able to get photos with the princesses. Or do they really don’t do photo ops? Stay tuned because I’m definitely coming back, Disneyland!

Disneyland is open from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily.

Have you been to any Disneyland?

Hi! Is one day pass on disneyland HK enough? We are bit confused if we will take one day or two days pass. We will be there on June 2017

Hi! If it isn’t peak season on your visit, I think one day is good enough. Just remember to take the train (in Disney) to roam around faster around the park. 🙂

Hong Kong Disneyland was my first disneyland experience too! I LOVED IT and like you nearly cried cause it was finally happening. I was with a group for only a few hours though so I didn’t have time to line up and meet princesses (one day I’ll meet them!) but I did meet Jessie from Toy Story! I love looking at these photos because it reminds me of my time there 😀 xo gad you had so much fun!

Are the princesses even doing meet and greets? Sad I didn’t get to meet them. I was only able to spend around 6-7 hours on Disneyland this time but I’ll make sure to make an entire day of it for my next visit! Thanks for sharing your Disney experience, Rai!! <3

Thanks, Miel! We didn’t really eat at restaurants that much, mostly foodcourt types. Cafe de Coral and Food Republic serves good food + plenty of options! Don’t forget to try out Hong Kong’s infamous egg tarts. Every bakery we’ve brought it from didn’t disappoint. 🙂

I’ve never been to a Disneyland, but your post makes me want to go there now that I’m an adult. It would be like a childhood dream come true. I’m a 90s kid so Disney played huge part in my life when I was growing up.

I went there last September 2014, and it was amazing. Roaming around the park, I felt like a kid again.

If I might share, there’s one funny thing that happened to me and my friends there. September in HK was a summer time, and it was a damn scorching hot day. After riding a couple of rides, we decided to rest and take nap (hahaha) in one corner of the park. Super tired and oblivious of the time, we forgot about the parade! It was so funny, we’ve been discussing and so excited about it since entering the park, but we missed it! Haha.

Too bad Space Mountain was closed, it was my favourite ride!

Sayang!! Hahaha. Di nyo napanood yung parade nung gabi? I’m just happy na Winter kami pumunta. Medyo nagrainfall pero keri lang kahit basa kami habang nanonood nung parade. Hahaha!

Me too! I was so sad to find out it was close. I was so looking forward to it! 🙁

I think that time when we went there, there was still no night parades. But it’s okay, though. I guess we just need to visit again. Lol.

Oh gosh, I think the number one thing I’m jealous of from these pictures is that hug with Baymax! I LOVE BAYMAX! I NEED HIM IN MY LIFE!! (Seriously, can you go back and kidnap him for me? It’d be greatly appreciated ;)).

Funny story, I’ve never actually been to any of the Disney locations, though my parents did visit the one in Florida without me. My mom has this obsession with Mickey Mouse (her room looks like a 5 year old’s with all the Mickey Mouse decorations in there) so when I was 13 or so her and my dad drove down to Disney and spent a couple of days without me and my brothers. Crazy, right? I wasn’t too bothered though. I tend to always shudder at the thought of theme parks just because I associate them with rollercoasters and I’m not a fan. I DO want to visit one of the Harry Potter parks though, so it’ll have to happen one day!

Anyways, great pictures! Looks like you had a lovely time, and hopefully next time you can get photos with the princesses 🙂

My friends and I were planning to take Baymax home when we saw him first. 😉 Unfortunately, it’s a tight fit to get him through the door and we dismissed that plan. Hahaha!

My mom is obsessed with Hello Kitty, though. So we’ll probably end up in a Hello Kitty themed park one day. Disneyland is not so scary though! Even if you don’t like roller coasters, there are many shows you can watch! And I agree, I want to visit the Harry Potter theme parks as well! I’m planning to visit the Japan one next year! 😀

Thanks, Asti! And thanks for dropping by! 🙂

Oh wow! This was such a trip for me. I went there nearly 10 years ago now and it still looks the same! When we went it had only just opened up and wasn’t fully completed. I loved Space Mountain, that was our fave ride. Also loved going through Adventure Land. Is that still there? Nice to see Mickey’s still surfing above a whales blowhole too.

What’s the difference between Disney World and Disneyland? I’ve also heard of DisneySea but it’s in Japan. 🙂 I was surprised to see Baymax in there as well and he really was adorable. I love it when he tries to hug everyone but he really can’t move his arms, haha. True! Even the small sized Beauty and the Beast rose was expensive but it was really, really beautiful!
