I Don’t Know About You But I’m Feeling 22!

I'm Feeling 22 - Richel Vergara

I turned 22 a little over a month ago and you bet I sang along to Taylor Swift’s 22 all day. It was a fun day and I got the much-needed four days off from work to recharge. I have a few ideas on what to write about it – how I celebrated my day to what I learned from the past 22 years, etc.

Then when I was going through my digital files, I decided to share some old photos and highlight 22 events in my life. So this is me looking back to how the past 22 years how been and how I am so lucky to have the life that I have.

One.

Growing up loved. I don’t think there’s such a thing as a perfect family. There will always be fights and conflicts even between the closest people, but my family is still pretty damn awesome. I even went through the phase where I was everyone’s favorite girl – I was the first grandchild from both my mother’s and father’s side of the family.

Two.

Seeing my favorite artist perform twice! It’s no secret how much I adore Taylor Swift and being able to see her was such a thrill – still hopeful I’ll get to meet her one day.

Three.

Getting to see my favorite bands live. I’m a little surprise at how I act at concerts but I love every single thing about it – even the sweat and non-stop pushing in between.

Four.

Meeting my favorite bands!

Five.

Got rid of my fear of attention (for a day) and held a debut for my 18th birthday.

Six.

Going to college.

Seven.

Finishing my capstone! I spent more than a month over my friend’s condo as we try to finish up our capstone. It was a lot of stress eating, crying, lack of sleep, and arguing but we made it through. Love my girls so much – shoutout to Yuna and Danica!

Eight.

Joined a fun run. It’s a big deal for someone who always prefers to take the escalators to stairs.

Nine.

Graduating college with a Latin honor – which was a really pleasant surprise! Viva Mapua.

Ten.

Getting my first adult job (and salary!).

Eleven.

Attending the best show ever AKA ED SHEERAN‘S! (Credit.)

Twelve.

Starting a blog. All the opportunities and leanings and friends, omg. One of my best decisions yet.

Thirteen.

First out of the country trips with friends and with no parentals!

Fourteen.

Setting foot in DISNEYLANDDDDDD!

Fifteen.

Got my financial life in order – got myself a life insurance + emergency fund. #adulting

Sixteen.

Travelling alone in a foreign land. I’m excited to try this again.

Seventeen.

I'm Feeling 22 - Richel Vergara

Touring the land of the oppas with my best friend and her family. Kamsahamnida!

Eighteen.

Getting my first promotion at work.

Nineteen.

Going on a long road trip with 10+ family members to Ilocos.

Twenty.

Making friends in the interweb. I didn’t think that starting a blog would get me many online friends, but it did! You guys, you, are one of the best support systems out there!

Twenty One.

Im-Feeling-22-Richel-Vergara

We got a new puppy and he’s keen for cuddles when I get home at 3AM everyday.

Twenty Two.

Being more comfortable in my own skin, at the same time, knowing to strive to be the best version of myself. I also started making VLOG so I can build my confidence up.

Life is a funny thing, you know. Who else here is not guilty of asking, “What have I done? Why am I not yet doing more? Why haven’t I accomplished anything??”? Then when you take the time to really answer the question, you’ll just end up writing item after an item and be surprised with how many you have written out. So here’s to the 22 years of my life, and here’s to hopefully a lot more!

These are such lovely milestones or life events 🙂 I had an opportunity to see Ed Sheeran live as well and his concert was one of the best I’ve ever attended. He’s such a legend. Anyways, cheers to many more lovely memories! x

I know I’m really late but I’ll say it anyway – happy belated birthday! I loved seeing all these snapshots from your life – that baby photo really melted my heart. I can’t believe you saw Ed Sheehan, that must have been amazing! Starting a blog has definitely been of the best decisions of my life as well, I can’t imagine my life without it and all the amazing people I’ve met through blogging! xx

Happiest Birthday Richel! You are definitely getting everything in order. Reminds me of days/years when I was your age (ehem). Haha! But seriously, do whatever it is that makes your heart sing and celebrate even the little achievements. Those are the things that will matter, and you will remember the most. Change the world, girl! <3
