Life Lately: Too Uninspired, Too Unmotivated

Too-UninspiredI admitted to myself just a few minutes ago that I write Life Lately posts when I’m too uninspired, unmotivated, or just plain lazy to document the actual things happening in my life lately. I also feel like I’m just in a slump right now. I wake up, exercise (sometimes), get ready, go to work, get back, eat, and sleep. Again and again and again. On the weekends, I go out to eat or for church then back again to just sit in my bed and just waste my time on my phone or just sleeping. I haven’t been in this lazy stump for a while and I’m not sure how much longer it will last. Lol @ how my social media accounts is portraying that my life is exciting and amazing at the moment.

I know this happens; some kind of (life) block or something. When all I want to do is curl up in bed and waste away my time. Mindlessly watching America’s Next Top Model or just thinking of what to eat next. Not doing about what I would usually do, like making blog posts, videos, re-organizing my room and whatnot. I also know that I’m just rambling and not making sense right now. I’d finish this post in fifteen minutes tops, I think.

UGH. I’m working on forcing myself out of this funk by doing the following:

  1. Reading. I finished around ten books this past two weeks which is something. I’m hoping this will inspire me to work back on my passion projects soon.
  2. Making an itinerary. Almost done with our Taiwan itinerary. It’s the one thing that really made my brain work for the past few days. And it’s making me excited for our future trip.
  3. Watching vlogs. I’m planning to document my next trip video-style, so I’m looking at how other people do it. I don’t claim to not be inspired by other people. I’m actually looking forward to try and make a vlog this weekend. Fingers crossed.

In the meantime, here are some of the things that happened this January-February. It’s not much, since, like I said, I was in a slump.

  1. Our team building finally happened last weekend. We went to Enchanted Kingdom and I finally won myself a giraffe stuffed toy! Achievement unlocked, but we ended up cashing a lot just to play games, especially my teammates. *insert side eye emoji here*
  2. We also stayed at this Nuvali AirBNB that is really my dream house. All minimalist and white. BTW, you can sign up here for an AirBNB account and you’ll get a free $40 credit.
  3. My boss introduced me to this Hazelnut spread that is better than Nutella, imo. It’s Crumpy Hazelnut Spread. I’m heading out to buy it after I finish writing this post.
  4. Silantro is my favorite Fil-Mex restaurant. I’ve been to the place four times this year and I already tried out around half of the menu. Hoping to blog about it in the future.
  5. I already blogged about the recent BGC trip with the extended family.
  6. I watched Moana for more than four times now. And I have completely memorized 80% of the songs in this Disney Spotify playlist. #NoShame
  7. For a Valentine’s date with my friends, we watched 50 Shades Darker. We laughed and snickered for more than half of it. It was so… blah. Didn’t like the acting and the storyline was just dragged on. 10/10 would not recommend. I didn’t even watch the first movie. Only watched it because the birthday girl liked the books before.
  8. Safe to say, we’re not watching the next 50 Shades movie for next year. Whew!

This is me lately. That’s it???? So uneventful; I’m surprised at this round-up. But the next two months will be more eventful with two major trips coming in. And holy crap, I want to not feel so meh soon.

How are you lately?

xoxo, Richel V.

Sorry to hear you’ve been in a slump lately, girl! It sounds like you’re doing some good things to work on moving through it, though. I’m seriously impressed by the amount of books you read! Any good recommendations? Also, I watched Moana as well and absolutely loved it!

Have you read Colleen Hoover books? They’re mostly good. I’m reading one by Tarryn Fisher right now and it’s a bit dark, but I like it so far.

Hi Richelle! I totally get you. Bad days and bad feelings come but the good news is they also go hehe 🙂 Just keep doing the things that make you feel good and maybe start saying a daily mantra after waking up. Saying positive things about myself and my life helps me get through difficult days. I hope it works well for you too 🙂

Sorry to hear that you’ve been feeling like this lately. I hope that you will get your motivation soon. Also, 10 books in two weeks?! This is bloody amazing, so pat your shoulder for that. I saw 50 Shades Darker on Valentine’s Day too with my friends and just like you I haven’t watched the first movie nor I read the books but the movie was simply awful. The plot is just incredibly stupid and the acting is nah. Not watching it ever again.

Now I’m back on a reading slump since I don’t know what to read anymore, haha! Just waiting for the new release of the book series I like. It really was awful, tbh. The characters doesn’t even look like they tolerate each other. Hahaha. And I tried to read the book, but I put it down after the first page so….

I get in slumps like that too sometimes. I think your way of trying to combat a slump is pretty similar to mine. I’ve been wanting to vlog lately too, well, I make booktube videos and I just haven’t made any in a while. I’m not great at it, but it’s something I enjoy. When I went on a weekend trip, I had plan on making a video travel log but didn’t pull my camera out once. -.- I’ll try to do it the next time I travel.

Wow ten books in the past two weeks! I’m so jealous. I’ve been rereading books I already own because I can’t find any good ones to read :/ That’s really cool that you’re planning on making a vlog for your Taiwan adventure! I can’t wait to see it. I love watching vlogs, haha.

I was amazed when I heard that they were releasing another 50 Shades movie, considering the last one got so many bad reviews. But I guess they must have already signed off for sequels? And I loved Moana too! The movie was cute and I liked that Disney is making efforts to branch away from the typical Disney princess stereotype.

That’s okay. I have go-to series when I can’t find any good books to read, mostly the Percy Jackson series. 😀

Maybe. I still regret spending $$ for that movie hahaha. Moana is definitely my newest Disney movie!

When I’m feeling stuck, uninspired, and unmotivated, I’ll try a bunch of different things depending on how I’m feeling, but usually a long walk and/or a trip to a coffee shop will help 🙂 Wishing you a happy March! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s

Uhhh I know the feeling of being unmotivated. 🙁 Itinerary making is so much fun! It makes me so much more excited to go on the trip while I’m researching on things to do. When will you be heading to Taiwan? I love their street food, it’s also pretty cheap (in my opinion).

I watched 50 Shades with a friend (from the office oh my haha).. it was so awkward cos it felt like we were watching soft porn. Haha

We’re heading out next weekend!! Is it cheaper than Korea’s? We’ll be going to two night markets and Ximending for the street food. Hahaha. They seem to have more food choices, too. I think.

I’m fine thank you! It’s a stressful time of year, well, the whole first half really because I’m doing exams. I find it so so easy to lose motivation in terms of studying and blogging and everything. I like to make lists and lists and get out and do new things that inspire me. Best of luck getting out of it! It won’t be long 🙂

I like their burger and skewers (the mix of chicken and pork one). I also loved the quesadilla – but that’s mostly because I love cheese. Most of the food are good – I love love love the mashed potato that came with the steak, but I’m not too fond of the burrito since there’s too much tomato. Let me know what you guys try next! 🙂

I’m actually planning a trip to Silantro this weekend because of this post. And omg, their nachos!!! So freaking cheesy and so affordable! I also love their skewers and burgers.

Nope! The Crumpy hazelnut spread is only around 180 pesos while Nutella is already 300+ for that prize. It’s not as sweet as Nutella, which makes it perfect for a spread, imo. I think most supermarkets have it? Was able to buy one from Robinson’s and All Day.
