Life Lately: On a Vocal Rest

Vocal-Rest

Well, end of May went downhill for me. I’ve been feeling sick since Monday and I thought it was the usual tonsillitis + fever combo. I got checked out by my trusty doctor yesterday and I found out that my vocal chords are really, really sore. My doctor ordered me to rest at home and not speak for at least two days. So I won’t be working until Thursday and my throat feels like it’s on fire most of the times.

Figured I’d get some blog work done while my head doesn’t feel like it’s going to explode as well. Fun fact: I can handle most sickness but severe headaches literally makes me see the world spinning.

Another news: summer is officially over and we should be welcoming the rainy season. Which is all fine and all since summer felt like hell these past few months. The climate were all over the top. However, we are planning a last beach hurrah this Independence weekend! We’re going to Puerto Galera and I might be able to try parasailing! I’m stoked. Just less than two weeks to go!

I’ve also been feeling sad about the state of the Philippine government. Sigh. I don’t want to get into details since it makes me sadder so I’ll be sharing with you guys the tv series/movies that I’ve been watching the last few weeks.

TV Series

  • The Flash: Anyone here watching The Flash? That Season 2 finale is just… ugh.  Can we talk about it? I can’t wait for Season 3!
  • Game of Thrones: Unless you’re living under a rock in the last two weeks, you’ve probably heard about the “Hold the Door” scene. I know that “all men must die” but all these deaths just breaks my heart. As for the last episode? Yasss Queen Margaery!
  • Daredevil: I’ve been behind on Season Two but the Punisher is intense! Can’t wait to see what the next episode will bring!

Movies

  • Captain America: Civil War: YASSSSSSSS Tony! I’m on Team Stark all the way! And the movie made me be more annoyed at Captain America.
  • X-Men: Apocalypse: I have to admit that the new X-Men movies are good. And I love the way Evan Peters portray Quicksilver. Ah, bae.
  • How To Be Single: The movie in a nutshell is how to be content and be yourself while single in New York City. There’s this part that really stick to me. Like how we should stop looking for relationship just for the sake of saying that you’re no longer single. It was a nice movie, all in all.
  • London Has Fallen: I honestly thought they shouldn’t have made a sequel to Olympus Has Fallen because it was a really, really good movie. This sequel blew my expectations away! Seriously, if you’re into action, watch this.
  • High School Musical: I’m stuck in nostalgia and I rewatched the entire High School Musical series. I still know all the songs by heart! And I still ship Zanessa even if Zac is acting like he didn’t like HSM.

I haven’t been reading any books at all these past month. Maybe that’ll change next month. That’s pretty much it for my side of life.

vocal rest

Me right now.

How’s May for you?

xoxo, Richel V.

It was a good series! Barry Allen is so cute and likable, haha. What’s Grimm about? I’m looking for new series to watch! 🙂

Grimm is really good! I don’t want to give too much away but it’s basically about this guy that has this gift of seeing creatures. I know it can sound a bit strange or a bit ‘childish’ but it is really good. Every episode is also related to a crime scene so it’s always interesting 🙂 If you do watch it I hope you enjoy!

The Flash is so messy at the moment. I mean, what happens next? Those last two seasons are gone?? like they didn’t exist now?? Ugh, I can’t even. AND YAS TO GAME OF THRONES!! Please don’t make me cry for reminding my the Hold the door scene, still breaks my heart until now. Oh lovely post, btw.

Poor you. I hope you’re feeling better and will be allowed to speak again soon:) I watched How to be single on the plane and it’s a really sweet movie:) I haven’t really watched any TV series since SATC and CSI NY, but maybe I should give Game of Thrones a chance?

My days of silence are over and I can speak freely now! Yey! Thanks, Mitzie! CSI was a good tv series. Might rewatch it one of these days. Give GoT a chance. You’ll find out if you’ll love it within the first few episodes. 😀

I have not watched Game of Thrones yet, and I’ve been getting so many recommendations about it. I’ll definitely watch it this summer! 🙂 And I still ship Zanessa too! They had undeniable chemistry in the HSM series. xD

Get well soon, Ate Richel! That would be pretty hard not talking for two days. What if you accidentally just talked to someone? Would it worsen the case or something? When I was in highschool, I also love rewatching HSM. Feels good to be an elementary kid again and just sing along with their songs. I still like Zanessa love team but I see Vanessa happy with her current boyfriend and they’re so sweet together but I think Zanessa were sweeter than the current. What do you think?

The doctor said that I can talk if I can’t help it. But only in whispers and in a short period of time in between! I was lugging around a whiteboard and marker yesterday! Hahaha! It hurts to speak.

I remember singing the Breaking Free song with my then-best friend on our Grade 6’s Christmas party. I wasn’t a really good singer but all my classmates are singing along and it was so fun! Maybe it’s also nostalgia that why a lot of ’90s kids ship Zanessa. And yes, Vanessa with her boyfriend is also really adorable! I’m happy she’s happy with him!

Awts, sorry to hear about the super sore throat. I’ve had that too, I think twice. I used to work as a trainer so just imagine I had to run a class without talking. I had an assistant. LOL. The other time was when I really felt like my throat would come out, geez saree! Hope you get well soon! 🙂 Also, I’m living under the rock, haha. Not really into too much tv series, not even GOT. LOL

I hope you will feel better soon! And I’m like you, I can handle most sicknesses but severe headaches are just horrible, especially when they are so bad that no medicine is working. I would love to try parasailing, I’m a bit jealous there! 😉 And I know really want to watch HSM again haha, I love watching films I watched as a teen. xx
