About Me

Hello world.

I’m Richel – a twenty-something software engineer, and travel blogger from Metro Manila, Philippines. They say you should find three hobbies you love: one to make you money, one to keep you in shape, and one to be creative. I code for a living, and travel and blog to be creative. The other one… well, let’s get back to that some other time.

Je ne regrette rien.

I’m all about DIY travelling + good books + vanilla ice cream.

I graduated from Mapua Institute of Technology University back in 2014 and proudly hold a degree in Information Technology. That has guided my career ever since. I code away at my 8-to-6 job every Monday to Friday. And it’s fun… most of the times.

Back in 2016, I discovered my love for travelling and didn’t turn back. I saved my ass off and travelled to a lot of new places with my friends and family. My ultimate travel goal is to do a Eurotrip for a month or two before 2020. Let’s see how that goes.

When I’m not working or travelling on my weekends, I busy myself reading books. My favorite series is Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and my favorite genres are dystopian and young adult. As long as it has a happy (romantic) ending, I’m all for it. I’m a hopeless romantic, it seems – at least for the books I read.

I also like spending my time away by binge watching TV series. The usual that I watch involve crimes and solving them. Some of my favorites are Sherlock, Scorpion, The Mentalist, How To Get Away With Murder, etc. My guilty pleasure is binge watching America’s Next Top Model and MasterChef US while munching on some Cheetos. I’m currently watching Elementary.

I think that’s pretty much it. My personality is more reflected on my twitter account.
