Travel VLOG: Ilocos, Philippines

Armed with my new SJCAM4000 action camera (which I’ll be making a review of soon) and a want to make a travel video of our December 2015’s Ilocos trip, my brothers and I took massive footage of everything and anything on our trip. When combined together, it’s around 2-2.5 hours of film. Not much of them are good to watch, though! We have shaky hands and it’s our first time to video anything, haha! Add that to the fact that it’s also my first time to edit any video (and in Windows Movie Maker, while at it), I present to you: my travel vlog of Ilocos, Philippines!

This will be my first post of many regarding our Ilocos trip and also the reason I wasn’t posting as much – I was editing the video and Movie Maker crashed for a hundred times. The sad thing is, I’m not even exaggerating.

I’m also including another travel vlog that is made by my uncle. This one is shot using GoPro Hero 4. And honestly? His travel vlog looks a lot better than mine! Hahaha!

There has been so many highlights of our Ilocos film – some not even making a peep appearance on both travel videos. I’m looking forward to document them with photos and words soon, though! My favorite part of our Ilocos trip? Sand boarding, 4×4 on Sand Dunes, and riding one of the longest zipline over water in the world!

Did you have the chance to visit Ilocos yet?

xoxo, Richel V.

I’ve been wanting to get an SJCam for the longest time cause I think it’s the best non-gopro action cam out there. But the boyfriend got me a gopro! Hahaha The video looks really sharp. I love how Vimeo keeps the video quality optimum!

If I could fit in a GoPro in my budget, I’d buy one. Hahaha! SJCam surprised me with its video quality, but the photo quality… sucks. GoPro totally beat SJCam in regards to that. Yeah, Vimeo looks better at keeping the video quality than YouTube imo. 🙂

My youngest brother (accompanied by Mom) went to Laoag last week, then had an entire day to explore around the city. He snapped photos and videos from Paoay, etc., and I was so jealous! I wasn’t able to explore the Philippines much before I left for the US. 🙁

IKR? For a PHP4000 camera, it did pretty good. I was surprised too. Looking forward to your future vlogs, Dice!

Wow. I also want to try having videos of my travel soon. Haha. Your video is also nice. It makes me want to go to Ilocos someday. Good thing that the weather was nice when you went there, Richel. 🙂

Oh wow! I wish I did more when I was in Ilocos, but we were just passing through. I heard about the sand dunes but didn’t have any time, ugh!! Thanks for sharing though. Definitely going to try more things when I visit the Philippines again.

Wow, congratulations for doing a vlog! My 2015 videos are still on the laptop, and I don’t bother to edit anymore. Haha wish I have time and patience to finish one!

Sandboarding and the 4×4 ride is also my favorite part on our Ilocos trip! 🙂 Wish I could go back 🙂

I lost my patience a lot of times while making this vlog. Especially when Movie Maker just. keeps. crashing! The end product is worth it though. It makes me smile when I replay the video. I’m hoping I can do this for all my future travels. Hahahaha. 😀

I’d love to go back to Ilocos, too! Even if it’s only to go to Sand Dunes. Hee hee.
